The Choose Crime-Free standard is comprised of multiple Criteria. One is that ALL employees of these firms support a drug-free workplace. This means they have a drug screening program in place and that ALL employees have been drug tested. The second requirement to be listed on ChooseCrimeFree.com is that the company has defined written complaint process. Every company can make a mistake on a job. What they do about it shows the true character of a company. These companies have committed to a higher level of customer satisfaction. The third requirement is that these companies allow public reviews of their services. The fourth requirement is that their employees are Certified Crime-Free by an approved background company that meets the Crime Free Choice standard.
This standard is:
Every Choose Crime-Free member has met all of the stringent qualifications agreed to become part of this network which, at a minimum, include the following:
No felony found in the past ten (10) years from the date of the investigation to the date of the conviction, release from custody or release from parole, which ever occurs last;
No misdemeanor found relating to or regarding violence, theft, drugs, or a person or property in the last five (5) years from the date of the investigation to the date of the conviction;
No sex crimes found;
No crimes against children found;
No pending or looming legal action found which may result in a disqualifying felony or misdemeanor conviction, as set forth above;
Any open warrant or open criminal case;
The applicant has a valid and current United States Government or (U.S.) State Government issued identification card;
Submission of a current, accurate and verifiable personal photograph;
No information found suggesting fraudulent identification or illegal immigration status
We rely on third party background investigation companies. ChooseCrimeFree.com is a network of companies who jump through these hoops and are willing to put their credentials out there to be seen. Reward these good companies by using their business. There are many companies who do not go to this extent and knowingly look the other way when it comes to their employees backgrounds. No background check can be 100% as courts, systems, databases and the like can be missing information or have mismatched data. These companies however are doing all they can to hire the right people and do the right thing by you, their customers and clients.
Some States have requirements that prohibit its Courts from maintaining criminal records for more than 7 years past the conviction date; some States simply fail to do so. Some States have prohibitions from reporting of court records or other adverse information that antedate the convictions/deferments by 7 years of the report. Federal law prohibits reporting of adverse, non-conviction information for 7 years antedate to the report.
We reserves the right to review any application and investigation to determine whether or not to allow that company/employee into the Crime-Free choice network. We do not discriminate based on Race, Color, Ethnic Origin, Religion, Age, Gender, Familial Status or Disability/Handicap.
Every Company listed on this site have met the Crime-Free Choice standard at a minimum. They can choose to add other criteria as long as it is above and beyond our standard.
